Ford Repair: 1998 F150 4.2, gauge tool, exuast

Question
This truck came to me with a stopped up fuel filter changed it. Ran better came back 2 days later no power again but worse good pressure.Exuast and cats glowing red.dropped exuast no change. Could the injectors be stop up?

Answer
Could you clarify some of the statements in the question please. When you say you dropped the exhaust, does that mean that you have removed everything up to the exhaust manifold? Also, when you say good pressure, what are you referring to, fuel pressure? Is this something that you noticed by putting a fuel gauge tool on? A fuel pressure tester is the only true reading you will get. It is possible to have good pressure at an idle and poor fuel pressure under throttle, indicating a faulty fuel pump. Again, the only accurate way to get a true reading would be to use a fuel pressure tester. Also, glowing red catalytic converters are a tel tell sign of a defect.
