Ford Repair: ford ranger, ford ranger xlt, kimbolton ohio

Question
i have a 1995 Ford Ranger XlT supercab and the check engine light was not on. but i was leaving for kimbolton ohio from Mansfield and i got to wooster and the light came on but nothing happened to the performance it still ran fine but now when i come to a stop the idle is funny. it shakes every 3-5 seconds when i am idling. i took it to autozone because it was the closest to my location and they came up with that the EVAP was blocked or it had failed here is the code they gave me P1443.it says that there was a fuel tank pressure change greater than a minus 7 inches of H2O in 30 seconds with a purge less than 0.02 lbs. per minute. how can i make sure this is true and how can i fix it? oh the truck has 221,miles on it and it has a 3.0L V6 can you help

Answer
There is an assembly that connects the intake manifold to the charcoal canister The assembly is made up of several hoses, a single valve, and a single sensor. This is a dealer only item, and here should be your part number, F57Z-9C987-CA. Of course, when you get to the dealer, give them either your V.I.N. or the engine size, and tell them you want the Canister Purge Solenoid/Flow Sensor Assembly for your truck. It should be less than 100 dollars, and more than 50, depending on dealerships. Estimated repair time is less than 1/2 hour. After replacing the assembly, you will need to drive a few drive cycles, and the light will go off, problem solved.
