Ford Repair: Start then Die, vacuum leaks, rescan

Question
I have a 97aspire with 120000 miles, o2 sen wire got smashed in the rack n pen started pop n the eng fuse, replaced o2 sen and wire's. still pop n the fuse, so moved all wires around a little and cleaned connections with electric cleaner.Fuse is holding now. Runs real ruff so I scan it and the maf code was present, replaced. now it starts up for 2-3 sec and then dies. will run if gas pedal is played with. With out the maf (@ air intake box) plug in car will run and drive, but with lost of power loss. Rescan and the code p0100. (runs better when warmed up) Oh and my brother n law messed with the set screw on top of the intake across from the tps unit, need to know what to set the screw at. Any thoughts?

Answer
if you got a reman maf it very well could be bad
dirty idle control valve and dirty throttle body can cause rough idle
make sure wiring harness looks good with no cracks in insulation of wires if harness has a lot of cracks in it get rid of car because it will cost more to keep car repaired than it is worth if no cracks you got a good harness and are ok
with engine warmed up and with key off unplug idle motor now start car after running a few seconds adjust screw to where car barely idles turn engine off then plug iac back and and restart
be sure you have no vacuum leaks under intake.
