Ford Repair: ford trans, worn clutch, appoligies

Question
i have a 2000 ford expedition, just started the trans is slipping, like you put it in gear and does not want to go until i get the rpms up to about 2000 - 3000 rpms then it will go, it acts like its low on fluid but its full also it smells burnt, do you know if thats electrical? or its just the clutches/ fibers?

Answer
hey there, more than likely it is a mechanical failure, especially if the fluid is burnt, changing the fluid will do nothing but make it worse, IN that condition the transmission will definitly need some attention, good luuck

Im sorry this couldnt be more specific, i do not deal with transmssions at all, in most ford dealerships there is one transmssion specialist that deals with transmssion concens, BUt from my little experience, burt transmission fluid is a result of clutch packs wearing out, if the transmssion feels like it is slipping it may be a result of excessivly worn clutch packs, the best thing to have done is scan it for codes, if there is an electrical problem then it will show up on a scanner, if not then have a pressure test done to the transmssion, low pressure is more than likely a faulty trans. pump, if pressure is ok then there is a worn sets of clutches and bands,
my appoligies for the short and poor response, next time i will make this a better experience, good luck
