Land Rover Repair: Rear door - Disco ?, torx screws, door latch

Question
Hi John,
My rear door can open and close with ease. However, when I'm driving I can hear sounds coming from the rear door latch like its loose or something. I go around check the door it seems snug and it doesn't seem loose at all. What can I do?
Is there a DIY information that helps be disassemble the rear door mechanism?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Rommel,

rear door - do you mean the tail door?  If so, next time you open your tail door, examine the post catch to see if it is loose.  Then, using a torx screwdriver, see if the latch itself has come loose.  There are 3 torx screws holding the latch in place and they have been known to work loose.  You may want to use locktite to keep them in place.

If you need to open up the tail door panel and do more exploratory work (my only MD pun), send me an email and I'll reply with a techsheet on the subject.

Regards,
