Ford Repair: Battery/ Starter Solenoid Problems, starter solenoid problems, inner fender

Question
Hi I have a 1993 Ford F150 when I go to start it, I put the key in the ingition and turn to start it but the starter solenoid just clicks once and it wont turn over. What could it be?

Answer
hey there, there could be a couple of problems here, one either being a faulty stator, 1 being a faulty solenoid, ore some kind of fault in the wirnig, the easiest quick test is as follows, find the startor solenoid, (usualy bolted to the passanger side inner fender wall.) there are two big terminals and one small one, using some kind of metal object, jump the two large terminals,if the startor then cranks the engine, replace that solenoid, if not, then check for power at the startor motor when in the cranking position, if there is power then replace the startor, if not, you are going to have to trace down an electical issue, good luck
