Question
QUESTION: which sensor would cause the fuel pumpe to come on when not needed. or cause a flooding problem ,i think i have a loose wire.to one of them. thanks a lot ,glad people like you are willing to do this. i would if i knew any thing. i am going to get the codes pulled soon. but give me your best guess.

ANSWER: larry what is your year/make/model and engine size-no sensor turns on your fuel pump it is controlled by fuel pump relay-inertia switch and pcm relay-give me a little more info and exactly what is happening and i will try to help.

QUESTION: i`m sorrry,it is a 92 ford f 150 300 6 cy duel tank, when check engine light comes on ,it will hardly run. if you stop and turn the switch back on you can hear the pump running, both tanks do the same.if ligh goes out it runs great.light flashes like a loose wire on a sensor.i guess i`ll try to pull the codes today, thanks in advance

Answer
go ahead and pull codes and follow up if you need to-if it is flooding you should see black smoke from exhaust-the only code you should get related to fuel pumps would be a fuel pump primary circuit fault-which is basically power supply to pump-since it is a dual tank does it do this on both tanks if so pumps in tank are probably ok although you still have one on rail-tank switch or switching valve can be culprit if it only does it on one tank. once you pull codes i think we may be lead in different direction- follow up.
