Ford Repair: ford range no start, crank shaft position sensor, shaft position

Question
I have a '94 Ford Ranger with 197,000 miles with a 2.3 liter. The engine turns over but will not start. I have changed the crank shaft position sensor, tested the ignition module and ohmed out the coil packs. Can the computer possibly be bad? Is there something else that I should check... and how? I'm not a mechanic, but a DIY. If I need to start from scratch with the testing procedure, please advise.

Answer
Yes, the engine computer does go bad. Is there any way you can pull the engine codes. You can retrieve them under the hood, usually on one of the fenders. Have you checked the valve on the fuel rail to see if you are getting fuel? Also, have you checked the plug wires for spark. A lack of both may indicate a bad ignition switch. The ECU would be the last thing that I replaced.
