Ford Repair: Tie Rods on 97 linoln continental, tie rod ends, outer tie rods

Question
Hello I was told that I need to replace my inner and outer tie rods on my 97 lincoln continental. The price they gave me was outrageous. I have looked online at a few different auto part stores and found the parts I need for cheap. I would like to replace them myself. Is this possible with limited experience? And I am wondering if you know of a site or book that would demonstrate and give me step by step instructions?

Answer
you need a tool to do inner tie rod ends but they are available-your front end will need aligned afterward-go to alldata.com and sign up for a diy account for one year it has plenty of info-now as far as your cheap parts their is a difference in parts big time-i only use moog front end parts and when you price these you will find they aren't so (cheap) but that has to do with quality-please don't take this offensive but everybody looking for cheap this and that is one of the reasons china now owns us so yes do it yourself but use good parts they last longer and actually moog is one product that has a lifetime warranty and is still a good part most other lifetime warranty parts are so cheap and are used by do it yourselfers that the parts people count on you getting rid of that vehicle before you can warranty it to many times-good luck.
