Ford Repair: 1991 Ford Explorer, inertia switch, fuel pump relay

Question
Hi there Denis,

My name is Justin, my Explorer turns over but fails to start. I've checked the fuel pump relay and replaced the fuel pump. The vehicle will still not start. I've also checked the inertia switch, no dice. I'm out of options that I can think of of hand. If you can point me in a different direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Justin

Answer
So you know there is spark? I cannot deduce from messages what has been done or tested. Assuming you have no fuel pressure thus this is the direction you went, then have you checked for power to the fuel  pump? Is the relay working? The relay is grounded by the PCM to turn it on. Checking for power at the inertia switch or fuel pump connector will confirm if the relay is working.

How are the battery cables and ground connections? Clean and tight?
