Ford Repair: 1989 Ford F 150, electric fuel pump, ford f 150

I have a 1989 Ford F 150, normally when I turn the key on you can hear the electric fuel pump charge up, but now it does it intermittly, I look at the wiring schematic in my book and it talks about an fuel pump relay switch, have no idea where it is located or even if this could be the problem, and also is there a fuse to the fuel pump system also?

hey there, there is a fuel pump realy and and a fuel pump fuse located in the same area, they will be both on the fuse panel on the inside of vehicle or sometimes located in the engine compartment. i dont have any books on anything this old any more so i cant tell you what postion they are in, but the wiring schematic should tell you. good luck
