Ford Repair: 2002 Ford Explorer - brake lights, battery cable, ford explorer

Hey there. Today my brake lights WILL NOT turn off, even after I turn off the truck, take the key out, etc. So I took off the battery cable tonight so I wouldn't run down the battery. Is it a switch or something I can replace?

hey there. the B.O.O switch (brake on/off) is located directly behind the brake pedal lever assemble, it will have two wires going to it, try disconnecting that switch, if the lights go out then replace that switch, It is a fairly inexpensive part and easy to change, just make sure it is properly adjusted so that the brake come on just as you touch the pedal.
