Ford Repair: abs light, conventional brakes, ford ranger

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2001 Ford Ranger and I just had my rotors and brakes changed yesterday. The problem is that the abs light is on and will not go off.
Is there a sensor that needs to be reset or could this be a worse problem? And should i worry about the abs not working

ANSWER: i wouldn't worry because when the light is on the abs is disabled and your vehicle reverts to conventional brakes.-was it on before the brakes were done if so probably unrelated-have it checked out thats what we pay for the scanners for to help diagnose these problems-do it at your convenience though because it's not going to cause you any problems except you won't have antilock. good luck

QUESTION: The light was not on previous to changing the rotors and brakes  it only came after the changimg of the rotors and brakes

Answer
if that be the case i would take it back and let them recheck it if you have front abs (some trucks only have rear) could be an unplugged/pinched wire-bad abs ring on rotor/in hub-dirt may have got in front of sensor-if you have only rear abs it should be unrelated.
good luck
