Ford Repair: Squeaks when it turns, power steering pump, ford taurus

I have a 1998 Ford Taurus SE and it squeaks horribly every time I turn the steering wheel. It sounds like a deep groaning more so than a squeaking. Is it the power steering pump or joints?

Hi Jimmy,
Check your power steering fluid level. If low, add fluid. If it is very low , you probably have a leak. Have your mechanic check the steering gear for a leak. If no leaks found, you will probably need a power steering pump. GOOD LUCK!!
