Ford Repair: Ford Focus - Oil Change, ford agency, car ford

Question
Hi,

I want to change the engine oil and the filter of my car (Ford Focus 2006 model). it is written in the catalog to use 5w-30 oil while the workshop of the Ford agency here in Saudi Arabia, where i live time being,  use 20w-50. they are saying the temperature is high so they are using 20w-50. can you please advise on which oil I should use? can i go with something in between like 10w-30?

Answer
Hello Waseem, the oil they are using is better for the climate you are in. only other recommendation would be 5w50 synthetic oil because climate temps. Your 1st numbers are for cold weather on how the oil reacts, basically the oil will keep its flexibility at 0 degrees F as it is at engine temp of 210 degrees F. Hope This Helps Thanks Tony
