Ford Repair: no highbeam lights, power steering hose, ford contour

I have a 1996 Ford contour 4 cylinder engine recently I had an O-ring replaced on a power steering hose which fluid leaked into the alternator which I also had replaced.  During the leakage the blue highbeam light started flashing and I did not have any highbeam lights nor did I have any lights that automatically came on when I start the car.  Now the alternator is replaced along with the O-ring on the powersteering hose, but, I still do not have any highbeam lights.  My mechanic says that his computer does not sense electrical body problems HELP!

nobody's computer (scan tool) picks up problems like that some things just have to be diagnosed-if your mechanic can't diagnose this (i'm not saying it is easy by no means) you need to find one who can they may cost a little more but would be worth it.
