Ford Repair: parking brake, rear disc brakes, guide pins

Question
My parking brake is frozen and I would like to know how to release it.This is a
Ford Expedition 98 with rear disc brakes. My passenger side pads are smoking.

i'm not sure it is your park brake if your pads are smoking-your park brake uses shoes inside your rotor called a hat rotor-you have pads on the outside you can see and on the inside center you have shoes-if your pads are smoking i would be looking at a stuck caliper or guide pins or contaminated brake fluid. pull your wheel off and caliper check for burnt pads-paint blistering off-dark spots etc. if so it is not park brake problem-you can pull rotor off and check shoes for same problem.
