Ford Repair: 96 explorer, inch gap, safety latch

rear passager door stopped opening from outside i hit the child safty switch try to  correct the problem now the door will not open from either side any ideals how to get door open

i hate that doors that won't open at all give me fits-first if the window will roll down-if it has a moulding strip at bottom of window that you can remove maybe you can take it out which will give you about 1/4 inch gap-take flashlight look down in door area and you may be able to take close hangar and reach down and push safety latch down from inside door other wise you will probably need to ask a body man how they do it. sorry can't help more but when i get one of these i just keep trying until something works i don't believe there is a set procedure.
