Ford Repair: 1999 EXPEDITION ELECTRICAL ISSUES, carpet matting, water leaks

MOST RECENTLY, TRUCK CRANKING ITSELF WITHOUT KEY IN IGNITION. POWER LOCKS ACTIVATING. SOMETIMES THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK AND RADIO AND DISPLAY DO NOT WORK WHEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE OR DRIVE. THOUGHT MOISTURE ON THE GEM MODULE WAS A PROBLEM.  LOCATED GEM AND COULD NOT FIND ANY MOISTURE OR RUST.  TRIED RUNNING WATER ON WINDSHIELD TO DUPLICATE RAIN, LEAKAGE, COULD NOT DUPLICATE ISSUES.  ALSO, AT TIMES , NOT RELATED TO RAIN, I HAVE HEARD A WARNING TONE.  IT SEEMED TO BE UNDER THE CENTER OF DASH, 5 TONES, AND A PAUSE, 5 OR 6 REPS.  ONCE, IT WOULD NOT START AFTER I DROVE TO END OF DRIVE WAY AND KILLED IT. MY HUSBAND GOT IT TO START AND GOT IT HOME.  THE NEXT DAY I CHECKED THE FUSES AND FOUND ONE BLOWN, NOT SURE WHICH ONE NOW.  I REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, NOT CYLINDER, NO CHANGE.  SEEMS MOISTURE RELATED AT TIMES.  ANY CLUES AS TO WHERE TO START?  THE CRANK ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AFTER RAINING FOR SURE.  GEM MODULE? HOW TO TEST?

 Remove the front interior kick panels and see if the carpet matting is wet under the front carpet areas after a good heavy or long rain. A water leak intrusion at the 'A' post,cowl section,roof panel or sunroof (if equipped) can cause a condition such as this by entering into an electronic module. Let me know if you find the floor matting wet or damp. Have you had the GEM checked at a Ford dealership for function?
