Ford Repair: a/compressor, condensor, dual system

I own a 2003 Ford Explorer with dual a/c (front and back). I took it to a shop today because it is blowing nothing but hot air. I figured a leak. They tell me the compressor is shot and has to be replaced. Since it's a dual system I'm looking at 1500.00 to get this done. Is it possbile this is just a leak?

if it is a compressor which is very well possible-i figure you would need a compressor (i only use new ones)-accumulator-orifice tube-flush system front only at this time as most debris will be caught in condensor and orfice tube area-o-rings/pag oil and R134 freon at most should be 900-1,000 dollars. now if you have a major leak around evaporator core front or rear it could to be very expensive-if you want to email me a breakdown of your estimate.
