Ford Repair: ENGINE STARVING FOR FUEL (shuttering), code definitions, egr system

Question
My 1993 Ford Escort (1.9 Liter Fuel Injected Motor) has begun to shutter among the speeds around 50 mph to 60 mph. It seems to me to be a fuel problem but others have told me it could be a electrical problem. Any Ideas?

Answer
You will need to pull the trouble codes from you're car's computer. Instructions are readily available all over the Internet. They are also available in most vehicle repair manuals at you're local parts store. The trouble code definitions are also readily available at the same places. When you pull the codes, shoot them back to me and I can help you further. Other that that you might be looking at something in the EGR system. Go ahead and tune up the car if you haven't already replacing the fuel filter also. A proper tune up consists of 4 basic parts and 1 extra. The four are plugs, wires, cap, and button. The PCV valve is the extra. Let me know what you have and have not done with reply please.
