Ford Repair: 01 Windstar has been chugging, but dies 3 times today, air control valve, mechanical malfunction

Question
It's an '01 6 cylinder. 2 months ago, we had plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter replaced. Our engine light was on but he couldn't find any problems with it so he shut it off. Light came on a few days later and it's been losing some power on occasion. It died when in park 2 weeks ago. It died this evening 3 times. It idles lower than 1000 rpms, around 750. Is this the cause or is it something else?

Answer
The engine light is the problem, I mean it tells you what the problem is. Deleting the stored codes only erases the evidence. The only true way to get the light to go off correctly is to fix the mechanical malfunction. That being said, start by having the idle air control valve and throttle body sprayed, wiped, and cleaned. By a different mechanic. You're rough idle could be caused by a faulty idle valve, or a fouled plug. Give me a little more information please. Was this problem occurring before or after the tune up? Go tot you're local parts store and have the code read and let me know what it says.If the board is full, post it in the comments section.
