Ford Repair: 2000 Mercury Villager Brakes Locking, mercury villager, question pool

Question
The front left caliper/right rear drum locks the wheels after brake application. The vehicle can still travel, but with considerable resistance causing the brake to overheat. With the vehicle hoisted, braking is applied locking the wheels. If the hydraulic circuit is opened at ANY fitting, the pressure is released and the braking relaxes.

The following parts have been replaced/repaired with no resolution of the problem:

We have also pumped up the system by foot until it locks and then separated the master cyl and power boost.  Also adjusted pedal linkage and break light switch.  No change.

Caliper(New)
flex brake line(New)
ABS Controller(Used)
dampening valve(Used-Twice)
master cylinder(Used and Rebuilt)
master cyl to ABS steel line(used/cleaned)
dampening valve(new)
Lines have been blown out, flushed and bled

Where might I go next?

thanks...dennis

Answer
I saw you're question in the question pool. Probably a safe bet to say that the ABS light is on. Having it read should solve you're problem, or tell you enough to get you well on you're way to fixing the problem. You are probably looking at a wheel speed sensor. However, I don't recall or remember ABS ever locking up the brakes like you describe.
