Ford Repair: belt tensioner on 94 ford van, ford van, belt tensioner

Belt tensioner broke off right at the head. if I remove the fan, shroud, etc from in front of motor is it an easy enough job to do myself? I have 2 years college back in the late 70's. I'm not stupid but am not up to speed on all this electronic stuff. Can I just easy-out it and put in a new one? What should I know before taking this job on? Wife is ready to choke me, she's tired of my ole truck.

The best advice that I can give you is to take pictures.I don't really know what "electronic stuff" that you are referring to.The job is pretty cut and dry.Being a van does make it a little tougher than most jobs.Go ahead and pick up a repair manual from you're local parts store.Detailed instructions should be very easy to follow.
