Question
I just replaced a front strut on my 99 taurus, there is a (stabilizer?) that connects to the strut verdicly, what is the name of that part? the part I am calling a stablizer.

The threads are messed up on one end and i can not remove the nut i would like to order a new one but i do not know what it is called. tank you

Answer
Please explain. The strut itself is vertical.Where does this "stabilizer?"connect to the strut? At the bottom, middle,or top. Also,do you care to describe maybe shape, size, etc. You sat that the threads are messed up on one end.Is it threaded on another end. Please try to describe these sorts of things.Because, when you say stabilizer,I think of rear wheel drive front suspension parts. There is a sway bar link kit on that car which could be considered a stabilizer. Is the bar shaped like a flat z.One bolt pointing up on one end and the other bolt pointing down on the other end of the bar.If so,it can be picked up at most parts stores for under 30 dollars. As far as the stripped nut goes,be careful not to have to buy additional damaged parts in it's attempted removal.
