Ford Repair: theft light, remote starter, security module

i have a 2001 v6 2wd f150 ...theft light is blinking rapidly but gores out when ignition is turned yet truck tries but cant start ....also my aftermarket remote starter is not functioning at all..worked fine two days ago,,i have had minor problems before but could start truck with remote starter even though couldnt manually...thanx

Hello Jason, The vehicle security module does not reconize the key.There is a transceiver that omits a signal and the sonar chip in the key sends it back, if it doesn't see the signal it will not let the engine start. Thats why it flashes quickly, do you have any other keys to try ? If not you'll probaly need to tow it to the dealer to check why the system is not getting a signal for the key. They will also need any and all keys, to reprogram them.Hope this helps Thanks Tony
