Ford Repair: 91 Tempo Sticky Gas Pedal, screw out, throttle valve

I have a 91 Tempo that has a sticky gas pedal.  When I disconnected the TV rod from the transmission lever, the gas pedal does not stick.  So the problem is the throttle valve outer lever on the transmission.  How do I free up the transmission lever?  Can it be done without tearing into the trany?

You shouldn't have to do anything other than taking one little screw out that hold it in the transmission.Follow the cable and you will see.You will need to replace the TV cable.If the new one still has the same symptoms than you're problem is internal.That probably will not be the case.Good luck and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
