Ford Repair: drive shaft wont come loose, worse case scenario, drive shaft

Question
Hey i ran into a problem with my 88 ford ranger. i know your more into newer fords but everybody else is on vacation. The problem is im dropping my tranny to be fixed and i got to the rear end to take out the drive shaft but after i took out the two support bolts and the back four bolts it never came loose. My question is is there a nipple there or something? or is it just stuck? I'm about to rip apart the universals.

Answer
Yes,there is a little lip that keeps the U-Joint from popping out.Try spraying it with penetrating oil and wait about 15 minutes. Then Take a large screwdriver or something similar and pry it out.If you destroy it a replacement is only 15 dollars worse case scenario with a lifetime warranty that never has to be greased.Hope this helps.
