Ford Repair: 1997 ford ranger 2.3, air control valve, ford ranger

yes 1997 ford ranger 2.3 and when i give it a little gas it misses but if i rev it up its fine im not sure what it could be any anwsers

If the check engine light is not on try two things.Change the fuel filter.Also clean the throttle body and idle air control valve with air intake and throttle body cleaner.Make sure that none of you're spark plug wires have burn spots,in particular the back side.They are real bad about getting burned on the intake.
