Ford Repair: Engine stalling, mobil 1 oil filter, mobil 1 oil

Question
I have a 1993 probe that I purchased about a month ago. It ran very well with no problems at all. I decided to give it a minor tune up 3 days. ago. I changed my oil to mobil 1 synthetic with a mobil 1 oil filter. I also changed the fuel filter.  When I was finished a started my vehicle up and let it warm up. Again it ran great. I took it for a ride and opened it up a bit and when I came back home the car stalled when it got to about 1000 rpms. The car will start but it stalls right away and does not keep the rpms up.  If a keep my foot on the gas and keep the rpms up the car runs good but as soon as I let go of the gas, the rpms drop right down and the car stalls. Hoping you can help me out and thanking you in advance for your time.

Answer
Sure I can help, that is what we are here for.Very good choice in oil and filter. That is what I use.You did not do anything wrong.I think that it is just a coincidence that you're idle air control valve is clogged.Try cleaning it first with air intake and throttle body spray and a cotton cloth. When you clean the throttle body around the butterfly valve you will understand why it is stalling. The built up carbon is clogging the air jackets that the car uses at an idle so essentially it isn't getting any air at an idle until you clean it.I clean my own about every other oil change.
