QUESTION: my car is a 01 ford taurus 3.0L dohc duratec 83,000 miles, this car ran fine until someone
put the wrong plugs in,it started to misfire,so I put the right plugs in,and the
misfire was gone but set code po402 I cleared the code with scaner and was fine
for a while and it set it agian and also po401,so I replaced the dpfe sensor and
cleared codes,I havent set any more egr codes but the scutter is still there and
always has been,it only does this when setting in reverse with ac on,and setting
in drive with ac on,it also does it sometimes around 40mph,it doesnt scutter at
all wih ac off but car drives fine with ac on

ANSWER: Do you now have the required double platinum plugs or better?Have you changed the fuel filter? Is the problem only at an idle and or low speeds? Can you define scutter?

QUESTION: yes the plugs are oem motorcraft, and discount auto store wires, and the fuel filter was changed a while back, the shutter is like a cylinder mis,but it doesnt set code, the other day it set misfire #3,and it has started doing it again during hard accel, but its mainly at idle and at lower speeds(40) on inclines with ac on,it is still there with air off but much less

Answer
I have a couple of things that I want you to do.
A.Pull the plugs out and make sure the gap is .054.I don't care what the guy at the parts store tells you.The only plugs that are preset are bosch, and that is because you cannot gap them. You may have been given the gap of .044.
B.Never let the gas get below 1/4 tank.(my buddies runs rough then).
C.Go ahead and change the fuel filter again, better safe than sorry.
D.Have you're throttle body and idle air valve cleaned w/ air intake and throttle body cleaner.
B.
