4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: 01 jeep cheroke, ford bronco, honda model

hello,
     i am looking into buying a 2001jeep cheroke, and i was wondering what your take is on them.  i am looking at buying a 4x4 that gets decent gas milage.  i currrenly own a 93 ford bronco with a 351W in it and onley get about 13mpg.  so i would be looking at the inline 6 cyldier fully loaded.  have you heard any major problem with them and if so what are they?? any help is greatly apperiacted thank you for your time.

The Cherokees of this year were fairly dependable but I have no idea about the mileage.  My personal choice would be to look at a Toyota or Honda model of the same vintage.  Would cost a little more but cost less over the term of ownership.  Best of luck, Bud
