Ford Repair: miss, mustang gt, exact problem

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1990 Mustang GT and I am in trouble.  I have a miss and can't seem to figure out what is causing it.  I have replaces my distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel pump, timing chain, triple checked my timing, ran compression test on all cylinders, all of my injectors are firing and I replaced my fuel filter as well.  The problem has gotten worse and my car will not even run unless I advance my timing to about ten degrees past tdc and then it pings and overheats my engine.  I do have a code for my speed sensor but am not sure if this would cause the problem

ANSWER: What brought on these symptoms?Did it just appear out of the blue?Have you checked the fuel pressure? How many miles are on the engine?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: The symptoms came to a gradual peak.  The miss has been in the car since I bought it four years ago.  The miss was hardly noticable but now I cant even drive it now.  The fuel pressure is good but something that I forgot to mention was that when my car gets warm it begins to run better and then just dies it wont start fore a while so i just have to sit on the side of the road and wait.  The car has 180,000 miles on the origional engine but I have no compression problems.

Answer
Ford had a recall for almost that exact problem.Your vehicle was not included. It seems that it was on the ignition Module, that is mounted on the distributor, if my memory serves me correctly.I would start there first. There was a recall in 1996 on the ignition switch."THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING, SMOKE, AND POSSIBLY FIRE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AREA OF THE VEHICLE.DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH."You can call the dealer and read off you VIN to them and they should be able to tell you if your car had been fixed yet.
