Ford Repair: carb/intake set up for 82 mustang GT, street avenger carb, good carbs

Well to get down to it i have 82ustang GT with a factory 302 rebuilt stock engine with all original motorcraft carb and intake. As you it is a 2bbl carb and really worn out,but at the same time i'm lookin for a little more torque and hp,so i'm thinkin about switchin to a edlbrock performer intake w/egr flange cuz i live in calif and opting to go with a holley street avenger carb w/the vac sec i know that in 83 they started the 4bbl, i dont even know what carb cfm is right for this set up,So what should i do???????

  For a regular street type setup, I wouldn't go past 600cfm.  The Avenger series are good carbs for the street but don't start thinking bigger is better.  I'd say a 550-600cfm carb would work great on a mild street car.  Hope this helps.
