Nissan Repair: crank sensor, crank sensor, cam sensor

Question
my engine light is on and dealer saids its crank sensor. it sometimes takes a while to start the car and sometimes the car stops running, is this problem related to the crank sensor? also is a cam sensor and crank sensor the same thing? would i be able to replace crank sensor myself?

Answer
Frank,

The crank and cam sensor are different.  The crank runs twice as fast as the cams.  The crank sensor sends the signal to fire the plugs and the cam sensor sends the signal to fire the injectors.  Really an easy replacement.  Purchase the new ones and you will see what and how they connect to.
