Can I replace the rear main seal on my 1983 e150 van with a 351 Windsor (2bbl)without removing the engine?

  While I've never actually worked on an E-series van before, I can't imagine it's terribly different from most rear main seal jobs as long as you've got enough room.  You won't need to remove the engine.  You will, however, need to disconnect the transmission and move it back far enough to allow you access to the seal.  It's a bit of a pain, but not terribly hard.  Hope this helps.
