Car Alarms: Reactivating break-in Alarm on FORD ESCORT, ford escort lx, ford escort

Question
QUESTION: I have recently been experiencing issues with the central locking on my FORD ESCORT LX 1.6 (1995 model) whereby I sometimes get locked in or locked out of my car, all the doors get jammed,  only the boot will unlock manually which is how I managed to get back in!
Sometimes the problem is external, sometimes internal. About 2 days ago I had the same issue and when I managed to unlock the car I believe I must have disabled my break-in alarm and now I don't know how to reactivate it. I tried to follow the instructions in the manual with the master key turning it to the right and holding it for a few seconds but it didn’t work. The red light goes on when I lock the car but it doesn't flash and doesn't stay red. When I turn on the ignition an orange light comes on which in the manual indicates that one or more doors are not closed properly but that's not the case, (it's the symbol with the picture of the car). That light stays on while my engine is running. Can anyone advise me on what to do? Your help would be very much appreciated! Many thanks!

ANSWER: Please go to my forum at www.INSTALLSUPPORT.com
and in the search bar there,
type in the manufacturer of the alarm.
I believe you will find an older thread on
where to get more on this issue.

QUESTION: Hi there, unfortunately the information on the forum did not help me :(  My electrician can't figure out the problem either and he tried to deactivate certain switches to check whether they were relevant to the problem, but the issue persists... Is there any way to go back to "default settings", or if i take the battery out and put it back in again would that perhaps switch off the warning light and then perhaps restart the alarm system? Many thanks for any help you can give me ,i am clueless...

Answer
Hmmm, not quite sure what part of:

"If anyone can guide you to the this info,
he's your man."

was unclear, but DO THAT instead of re asking the
same question here. You will get the same answer
as before.

That's why I sent you there.

Ask Robert directly about your question if unable
to locate a prior post on it.
