Ford Repair: automotive training, computer controlled systems, bells and whistles

Question
Hi Jason: I'm a tech like you (38 years) and I need to do some catching up on
electrical diagnosis/ computer controlled systems. Do you have any opinion on
the Veejer training courses or ones offered by Snap-On tools ? Any other
recomendations would be welcome. Thanks...... Glenn

Answer
I don't know about the snap on classes, but I have been to numerous classes by a company called "injectronics" and they have some very knowledgeable instructors and cover a lot of good information.  Our local parts store hosts the classes and each shop pays a fee for their techs to attend.  Another option is, if there is a tech school in our area, you could see if they have any automotive classes.  The school here has a separate class for electronics and some techs attend just that hour to "catch up" on the industry. Just a warning though, I've only been out of school about 2 years and most of what I learned there is already obsolete.  Working on automotive electronics is more challenging than any other type of electronics because there is so much competition between brands to have the most bells and whistles and best fuel economy these days. Hope this answers your question,
Jason
