Ford Repair: Ford F150 Transmission, automatic transmissions, ford f150

Question
We were told that a (torsion control spring)? in the transmission of the truck was causing it to shift hard when you first take off in the truck.  Is this something that we could maybe fix ourselves?

Hey Rodney,
    I wouldn't recommend attempting internal repair on an automatic transmission. Honestly, when I have transmission problems, I let someone that does only transmissions help me. Automatic transmissions take a great deal of specialized tools and repair information, being a very complicated part of the powertrain. The people that just do trannies are more likely to be able to repair it right. I hope the problem you have isn't serious, good luck!
