Ford Repair: Washer Pump, ford excursion, windshield washer

Question
I have a 200 ford excursion. The windshield washer is not working and I have replaced the pump. Is there somewhere else i should look. possibly the switch in the turn signal arm. If so , how do I get in there and is it replaceable or does the whole arm need to be replaced

Answer
Hello Cosmo,
It is quite likely that the switch is bad, assuming that you have no power to the pump. It is usually called a combination switch, and the are known for failing. It is a little pricey (between $100 and $200 approx.) and is fairly easy to change. You must have the steering column covers removed to change it, and it takes Torx style bits to remove the fastening screws.
Without checking the truck with a wiring diagram and a test light, that is just a guess. Make sure you check the fuses first. I hope this helps and good luck!   Shaun.
