Ford Repair: Troubleshooting code, 2001 ford tauras, charcoal canister

I have a 2001 Ford Tauras 6cyl.  My Check Engine light came on yesterday the Code is PO455.  I have changed the Gas Cap as that is the easiest hopeful solution with no luck.  If this were you what would be your next step.

    Evaporative emission codes are sometimes some of the hardest and easiest to diagnose. Most of the time a gas cap repairs the problem, but when it does not, the next step is to visually inspect the fuel tank and charcoal canister(including all the hoses and tubes all the way up to the intake manifold) very carefully for cracked hoses or loose connections. Also check for a crack in the actual fill neck where the rubber seal contacts. If no visual leaks can be detected (with no other codes present for purge solenoid and pressure sensor etc), then more sophisticated methods are needed to seal the system and detect the leak. I hope you can find a leak in the areas I mentioned. Good luck!   Shaun.
