Ford Repair: 85 F-150, ford f 150, nuetral

Question

I have a 85 ford f-150, it has the 4.9 300 straight 6 cylinder. My question is this, when the truck is in nuetral it reves to its peak. When I drive the truck it has power through 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. Once I hit about 35 mph, It acts like its choking its self out when I press on the accelerator. The truck only has 122,xxx original miles. Iv looked for vacume leaks, changed the regulator and tested the alternator. I think now that it has to do with the carb. It has the single barrel carb. I would appreciate all help. thanks

Jacob, it does sound like it could be your carburetor based upon your description, as long as the truck does not have a miss.  If it has a miss, then you will need to narrow down the possibilities.  You can read some of my past answers about ignition coils and pick-up coils.  I hope this has helped,   Jason
