Ford Repair: 1998 FORD EXPIDETION, continual problems, bleeders


Question
I replaced my brakes ,an when i went to  reinstal caliper i broke the nut loose on the back of the caliper so i could push the piston back away from the rotor now i can not get a pedal back if any thing it seems worse (no pedal) not even enough to take it from park to any other gear could u give me some advice i have went through a big bottle of fluid already  i am currently over night gravity bleeding it was my last option could u please give me some advise thanks so much

Hello Barry,
            If you are having continual problems getting the air out the system, particularly one side only, check for some type of leak where it could be drawing air in, like the bleeder screw, or cracked hose, or bad caliper seal.  Or somehow the master cylinder when dry, and sometime vacuum or pressure bleeders may be need to cure the problem. I don't usually open the bleeder to return the caliper back in, I just push the fluid back into the system to avoid air bubble problems like you are describing, for future reference.  I hope this helps.
