Ford Repair: 302 intake 351 engine, upper manifold, ford f150

Question
i have a 92 ford f150, it has the stock 5.0 and 126k miles.some of my buddies and i were wonderin if it was possible to place my 302 efi intake manifold on a 351 from a mid 80's ford since i'm lookin' for somethin' with a little more power. my buddies tried there best to git me to tear down these motors and start switchin' parts, but it just doesn't seem like it would work. thanx

Answer
Mike-

You're right...a 351 intake won't work on a 302.  351s are wider than 302s and the intake will be too wide to fit between 302 heads.  For a truck intake, if you want more power go with Ford's GT40 intake.  Most aftermarket intakes won't work because the inlet faces the passenger side and trucks have a driver's side opening.  The GT40, however, is symmetrical so you can just turn the upper manifold to face the correct side.  Hope this helps.
