Ford Repair: engine swap, swap kit, engine swap

i have a 94 Ranger 4.0l.....  swamped the motor last year and i would like to put a 5.0l in it if possible.... what motors would be exchangable and what would you recommend for the most power.... thanks for your time

  I know I've seen 5.0L motors in Rangers...aside from that I'm not sure anything much bigger would fit.  There just isn't a whole lot of room under a Ranger hood to fit a big engine.  A company called Kaufmann Products used to make a complete kit for swapping a 5.0L into a Ranger...they may still if they're still in business.  Even if they're not I'm sure someone out there makes a similar swap kit.  Hope this helps.
