Ford Repair: ford pickup, key cylinder, ford pickup

Question
In reading your bio I noticed that you are most familiar with late models up to 1986.My question is about an 1989 f250 ignition switch. Is there much difference between those years?
Well, here is what I'm trying to do. I already identified that I need to change my ignition key column. Can you walk me to the process of removing the steering wheel,(if it needs to be..i was only able to remove the horn and the nut that holds the steering wheel...and i got stuck) and changing the ignition key cylinder. I still have the key, but it makes no difference if it's in or out, the ignition switch still turns and the truck starts( and it dies if i tap on the key switch).Tks.

Answer
Luciano, there is not much difference in the steering columns.  It sounds to me like you have gotten as far as you can go without using a steering wheel puller.  What you need to do is stop by a parts store and pick one up.  You can buy them for around 15 dollars, or you can rent them for about the same (it should just be a deposit).  You will use the puller to get the wheel off, then you should see the switch.  When you get this far, if you still need some help, let me know.  Good luck and keep me informed,   Jason
