Ford Repair: Heater, heater cores, hose clamps

Question
Hi
I live in Victoria B.C. Canada and get a lot of rain. The heater cores go in the vehicles due to rust and hardley used. Mine is leaking in my Ford 1979 Half Ton. 302-2bbl.I put stop leak in,so far so good. Question is can I connect the intake and out hoses to the heater and by pass the heater. Don't really need one here.

Answer
Deryck, the answer is yes.  You can use one big hose and loop it back around (but it looks kinda tacky when you pop the hood) or you can cut a couple of hoses and place a plastic heater hose fitting in between the two of them.  It looks a little better when you do it that way.  You can pick up a plastic fitting at your local parts store.  Don't forget to grab a couple of hose clamps while your there.  Hope this helps,   Jason
