Ford Repair: 2002 Ford Explorer, luck chris, heater fan

There is a knocking sound coming from behind the panel under the window in the very rear on the driver's side of my vehicle. Could you point me to the right direction as far as if it could be something to do with the heater/fan?

Hi Jo thanks for asking
The first thing  I would do is remove the door panel. If the panel has been removed before and the insulation wast left oun upon reinstalation of the door panel then the noise u may be hearing is a lock rod or something along those lines bouncing around against the door and panel. Remove the panel and see if the insulation is there
