Ford Repair: 1991 ford taurus 3.0 V6 broken fuel line, tow truck driver, taurus 3

Question
Upon having my car towed from where it broke down months ago it has been sitting until now when I have the funds to repair it. When I went to put some gas in it (from the gas can I went to the station and brought some home), I was hearing something like water running. I stopped putting the gas in and looked under the car. From what it looks like the tow truck driver, (and now thinking back) let the car down hard and it looks like he broke or it came disconnected or something but it is a big line under the car about in the middle from looking at the side of the car. If you look from the rear of the car up under neath the line, (pipe) comes down from the tank and travels along the passenger side. What I want to know what exactly is this called and was it welded on, clamped on, or can it be clamped on?? Any pics or drawings would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time I am a single mother of two and i really can't afford to pay anyone to check this out. DESPERATE NEED OF TRANSPORTATION.

Tara-

Well, I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but it seems like you're saying your fuel line disconnected.  If that's the case, the fix depends on where the disconnection or break occured.  If it actually broke the line, you'll need a fuel line repair kit.  You can get these at just about any Ford dealership parts department.  They're not terribly cheap...but certainly not expensive.  Around $100 if I remember right.  If it simply came loose and became disconnected then there's a chance it could be reattached using some replacement clips (assuming the factory ones are gone), but this requires a special tool.  And no, the line is not welded on (gasoline and open flame tend not to get along).  It should simply clip into place.  Hope this helps.
