Ford Repair: Illumination lights on a 95 Explorer, illumination lights, gas gauge

Question
I was irresponsibly turning the dome light switch on and off to annoy my girlfriend and the illuminating lights for the odometer, gas gauge, etc blew.  The dome light still works, but when I turn on the headlights and adjust the brightness for the dash lights nothing turns on. The indicator lights for ABS, SRS, Seat belts, etc still works. Any tips or a quick way to find a fuse location for it? Thanks

Answer
HEy pete thanks for asking.
If the dome light still works then it probably isnt a switch, If I remember correctly they are on the same circuit. the resistor bord for the illumination is probably no longer any good. the interior lights will turn on with a swich inside the little box. thats when you feel the little click at the max dash illumintion setting. try going to a local scap yard and pull the switch out of another explorer and see if it work, if not get back to me
good luck
